Some biostimulants used for natural behaviour

Innovative solutions for the fitness and health of vine and wheat, combining biostimulants / elicitors to imaging technologies, and agricultural equipments

Plant protection against diseases is a major challenge to optimize the yield and quality of agricultural products. Elicitors, compounds able to stimulate plant defenses, represent an environmentally friendly alternative to pesticides. However, their efficacy in field conditions remains insufficient.

The objective of IRIS+ project is to develop a complete solution based on the use of biostimulants in synergy with elicitors in order to optimize the physiology and health of vine and wheat, and so to secure these productions.


Three innovations will be included in this solution:

•Biostimulants obtained from marine algae or plants to improve the effectiveness of elicitors to better control vine and wheat diseases

• static and embedded systems of imaging and spectroscopy able to monitor the effects of biostimulants and elicitors on plants

• A spray system for optimizing the application of biostimulants and elicitors, and therefore their effectiveness.


IRIS+ involves 4 companies of Bretagne, Bourgogne and Champagne-Ardenne regions (Laboratoires Goëmar, Tecnoma, Global Sensing Technologie, Artemis/Dijon Céréales), the group Orange, a professional association (BIVB) and 4 research teams (UMR agroécologie, l’Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale, L'Unité de Recherche Vignes et Vins de champagne et L’équipe Biotechnologie et Gestion des agents Pathogènes en agriculture au sein de l’établissement ISA).
